The 2020 vintage is receiving very favourable reviews for quality but quantity is a big issue.
Both 2020 and 2021 have seen production volumes decline enormously (in some cases to less than 50% and occasionally 100%).
Our allocation of 2020 is considerably smaller than 2019. To offset that we have some exciting new cuvees to offer, including some great new whites.
Jerome says of his 2020 reds “Hard to dream better than the 2020 vintage! The robes are deep red and the nose, of an unusual richness, are marked by intense fruity notes. Endowed with an impressive concentration, a magnificent tannic frame and a very great elegance, they are promised to a future among the greatest.” And of the vintage in general “2020 is an exceptional vintage, with a freshness that is as unexpected as it is remarkable, with unprecedented and unique balances.”
The first tasting notes have started to come through. We have some great reviews from Jasper Morris MW for some wines. Many wines are produced in such small quantities that they are seldom offered for tasting.

100% pinot noir. Rich dark purple black – but the colours always are, here. Compared to the Passetoutgrains, the nose is fresher, the fruit is deeper, and the juiciness reigns supreme. The darkest of raspberries, tannins and acidity present but smothered by the density of the fruit. 87-88 Points

Dark purple. There is a bright juicy exuberant pinot nose, dark fruit but still lifted, more energy than the Coteaux Bourguignons. More structure with some tannins, and still good acidity. The fruit in 2020 is only a mite richer than typical Castagnier. 88-89 Points

Rich dense purple, a phenolic trace on the nose, along with some cherries. Sweetly ripe, some drier tannins behind, would become savoury if there weren’t so much fruit – cherry, strawberry and a slight raspberry inflection. A touch phenolic. Plenty hee though. 88-91 Points

This comes from the village part of Aux Echanges, planted in 1923. Vivid bright purple, with a succulent velvety nose, abundant ripe fruit, but nothing cooked. A little bit of sundried cherry at the finish followed by a mineral thread which continues well afterwards. Long, and given the style, rather fine. 90-93 Points

One of the deepest black purple colours I have seen! The nose is brutally intense, so I cannot pick out the details yet. Huge density with some spiciness. Firm tannins to finish behind such an extraordinary wealth of fruit. A few peaches, not excessive, otherwise just a very luscious deep red fruit with some black notes. Exciting, but possibly living dangerously. 88-92 Points

Inky black purple. A more restrained nose, but soon the quintessential richness of the year starts to push out. Quite a mix here. There is plenty of fruit for sure, a certain amount of oak, a not entirely integrated acidity. Should come together more later. Very spicy finish. 91-94 Points

Just on the darker side of imperial purple. The bouquet is as rich as for the Charmes-Chambertin but slightly less effusive, a little stricter in class. Magical intensity a thread of fresh red fruit cutting through the middle, this needs putting away for 8 to 10 year minimum but has the potential to be an outstanding wine. 94-97 Points

Hugely intense black and purple. Thick legs of glycerine. This is an absolute blockbuster. Jerome singles out some floral notes though. Very spicy behind, a tingle factor which could have been stems but there are none. Very dark fruit with even some chocolate but otherwise not over the top. Here I find the significant acidity better integrated. 94-96 Points
