A new cuvee for the Domaine from a 2.8 hectare plot, I recall speaking with Stephane Follin Arbelet and he was very excited to be working with this village that is producing excellent wines from one of the more accessible communes of the Cote d Or and becoming more prominent for astute buyers recognising its close proximity to the Hill of Corton. Ruby & purple colour with fresh nose of redcurrants and strawberry with fine tannins – all destemmed with 18 months elevage in 1/3 new oak.
Smoky black cherry & soft floral nuances give way to energetic , well detailed & delicious middle weight flavours that display fine depth & persistence on the mildly austere and rustic finale. I would note this is notably more structured and while can be enjoyed young, it will peak at 6 to 8 years.
