1990 is a 10 out of 10 vintage. Both the left and right banks performed brilliantly. The Wine Cellar Insider says “1990 Bordeaux wines continue to improve. 1990 Bordeaux wine are rich, roasted, velvety, intense, sensual expressions of Bordeaux wine. Plus, the quality of the vintage allowed great wine to be produced at all levels in every appellation. The Right Bank, Left Bank and Pessac Leognan were equally successful. However, the most successful appellation is St. Emilion. Stunning wines at every level were produced in the St Emilion region. In Pomerol, the better vineyards located close to the St. Emilion border made better 1990 Bordeaux wine, than they did in 1989.”
