Volnay-lie on the nose. Not surprising. There is crunchy red/black fruit – mostly plums – with woody spices, some florals, a whiff of smoke and something suggesting, but not really, mint. The palate is more acid than tannin. It is slick. Old vines meet stony soil. From the great 2019 vintage and hard to beat at this price.
