Full bottle 1,344 g. Grown in clay-sand on a bed of Bathonian limestone in the extreme north of this vineyard on the border with Chambolle-Musigny. Vines planted in 1959!
Very pale red (not a hint of blue ... ). Lovely, sweet, evolved nose with a fresh palate and fully evolved tannins. Real delicacy and charm. Beautiful balance. Should go well with our duck tonight. Complete even if more ethereal than meaty.
Bright and quite light in colour but boy, what a nose. Super aromatic with complex floral notes intermingling with sweet fruit and spice notes. The wine is sappy and intense, refined, pure and captivating in the mouth with integrated tannins and great length. Balanced and complete. Style personified. It is hard not to be seduced immediately but this wine has ages ahead of it.
