Burghound
(a ~1.9 ha monopole that is split between ~.5 ha classified as grand cru and the remaining 1.4 ha as 1er). This is compositionally similar to the 1er but notably more restrained. The powerful and muscular bigger-bodied flavors possess fine mid-palate density and ample minerality on the more persistent finish. It’s clear there is a bit more overall potential here compared to the 1er. 2034+

33 hl/ha. Bright full purple. Clearly a little deeper in colour than the 1er Cru version, which was planted with the same vine material in the same year, and more concentrated in red fruit bouquet. The palate is more savage, the acidity is much more present along with the tannins. The rock is much closer to the surface here. A muscular wine, which needs to be picked early.
Sarah Marsh MW "The Burgundy Briefing"
Alluring perfume, summer-fruit seductive. Broad, swaggering, juicy palate, thickly textured. Definitely deep-pile. Rich succulence contrasts with a dark, quartz bite. It has some grunt on the finish. 2025-32.
