Decanter - Charles Curtis MW

The Clos de la Pucelle in 2022 has delivered a marvellous wine of great finesse and elegance. There is less forward lemony fruit than the Folatières but more density and richness. Discrete on the initial attack, this opens on the palate with notes of ripe pear, hazelnut and smoke. The texture is wonderfully creamy, yet there is nothing heavy about this, just an opulence that goes on seemingly forever on the palate. Give this wine a few years to open, and you will be rewarded for decades. Drink 2028-2055. 95 Points

Pale lime tints to the colour. Quite closed on the nose, a little positive reduction, plenty of energy but tightly wound. Then a significant concentration of pure white fruit, evidently with plenty more to give later on. I did not quite find the anticipated personality and intensity, but this may just be going through a very closed stage. Drink from 2028-2034. 91-94 Points (tasted too early?)

John Gilman "View from the Cellar"

The 105th vintage for this wine at the domaine.

Clean, pure, mineral but with compact aromas. Larger in scale again – yet still growing in mineral intensity. Oh that’s going to be great though currently more discreet, slightly more structured nose. More impact, less round – the architecture is more obvious here . silky then an impressive finishing burst of flavour. Great Pucelles? I’m not sure about that – but what an absolutely delicious wine!
