Whereas the low-lying Bourgogne Blanc was completely frosted, there was a normal crop in Corton-Charlemagne. Lemon and lime in colour, with a brisk reductive nose, this tastes very fresh after the reds. It is a serious, broad-shouldered wine, a complex mix of fruit including some yellow plums, but does not leave its bed of stones. Last picked after the reds with a near ideal analysis of 13.8% and 3.23pH. Their plot is on the upper slope and has stayed fresh enough while retaining huge intensity.
